ROAD RUNNER

Three bands, and no surprises at the end of the month

You are charged for the distance the courier actually rides, measured on the road rather than as the crow flies. There is no booking fee, no fuel surcharge and no minimum volume. Anything else — faster delivery, volume discounts, carrying cash — is agreed with you and written into your own terms, where you can read it.

The questions the table does not answer

Every courier publishes a price list. The arguments happen over what is not on it, so here it is.

What if it is further than 30 km?

We agree the price with you first. Book it as normal: it is held, no courier goes, and we call you to agree a price. We collect in Harare and deliver up to 100 km by road. If we have not agreed it within two days, it is cancelled and you are not charged.

What does a failed delivery cost?

If nobody is there or the recipient refuses the parcel, we bring it back to you and you pay the delivery plus the return at the same rate. If we could not find a courier at all, you pay nothing.

What if I cancel?

Free until a courier has the parcel in their hands. After collection it is charged in full, because the ride has already happened.

Is there a fee for cash on delivery?

Not on standard terms. We collect the amount you tell us to and pass it to you on our agreed settlement cycle, less the delivery fee. We are not a payment service and we do not hold your money as a float. For accounts where we carry large amounts of cash we may agree a handling percentage; if that applies to you it is written into your terms and shown on your portal before you book anything.

Does a faster delivery cost more?

Yes, if you ask for one. Standard is the price on this page and is collected on the next run past you. Express goes straight there and is priced as a percentage of the standard fee rather than a flat surcharge, because express on a 28 km run costs us far more than express on a 4 km one. Scheduled deliveries, booked for a time so we can plan the route, are cheaper than standard. Your own percentages are on your portal.

When am I invoiced?

Monthly, in arrears, payable within 14 days. You can see your month to date at any point in the portal, counted into the same bands you are billed on.

Do you do volume terms?

Yes. We can agree bands that take a percentage off once you pass a number of deliveries in a calendar month, and the discount applies to everything after that. Cancelled deliveries do not count towards it. Talk to us with a number of deliveries per week.

Can I charge my customer something different?

Yes, and most clients do. What you charge your customer for delivery is your business and never appears on our invoice. We bill you the band.

What about a parcel worth a lot?

Our standard cover is US$100 per delivery. Tell us before booking if a parcel is worth more and we will agree a declared value or tell you we would rather not carry it.
