We started with a phone and a notebook

Road Runner has been moving parcels around Harare for years the way most couriers here do: someone calls, someone writes it down, someone rides out. It works. What it cannot do is answer the question every shop gets twenty times a day: where is my order?

Our customers are pharmacies, retailers and wholesalers whose own customers are waiting. When they had to ring us to find out where a rider was, they were doing our job for us, and their customer was still in the dark.

So we built the part that was missing. Every delivery now reports itself as it moves, to the shop that sent it and to the person waiting for it, without anyone picking up a phone.

We still ride the same routes. We just stopped keeping them a secret.
